Arty Party fun for students

This is the heart of the mural, bridging the cold and warm sections and containing the main text. The central scene depicts two small figures standing near each other with potted flowers between them, suggesting an act of connection or sharing.

We had the most amazing time when Arty Party visited us recently!

Every child, from Reception to Year 6, helped to create a wonderful art installation in our school hall, based around the picture book, ‘Invisible’.

This part of the mural is characterized by a warm, vibrant palette featuring teal, red, yellow, and green, suggesting a lively, summer or festive atmosphere. Figures are sculpted and appear to be dancing or running with their arms outstretched, reflecting joy and movement. They are diverse in appearance and clothing.
This section of a mural has a cool, monochromatic palette dominated by black, white, and grey, suggesting a winter or cold urban setting with falling snow. Figures include a small figure looking out of a window in a small, peaked-roof house, a man kneeling to tend to a bicycle wheel, and another figure in a knit hat standing nearby. A taller adult figure wrapped in a scarf stands further right. All raised figures are sculpted and wear thick clothing, reinforcing the cold weather theme.

We’re sure you’ll agree it was a wonderful opportunity to have such a hands-on art project, and we can’t wait for you to see it! We are delighted to share some photographs of the art installation…”Belonging Begins When Someone Notices You”.

Every pupil at Leigh Academy Hartley belongs to our school community- we value and notice every single one!

This is a panoramic view of the complete or major part of the wall installation. The mural is divided into distinct thematic sections, likely representing the seasons or different phases of life/community experience.
