What a spectacular World Book Day we had this year at Leigh Academy Hartley! A massive thank you goes out to our incredible parents, children and staff for their amazing character-inspired outfits. The school was truly transformed into a living library. Throughout the day, our students immersed themselves in a literary whirlwind, from designing Top Trump cards based on iconic book characters to participating in live lessons with published authors. The energy was electric during live Premier League Reading Stars quizzes, where pupils tackled questions on books and football.
Between visits to the library and our vibrant costume parades, the classrooms were hubs of imagination with a wide range of book-related activities. We wrapped up the festivities on a sweet note, and we are so grateful to our wonderful PTA for organizing the Willy Wonka-inspired chocolate sale after school. It was the perfect ending to a day dedicated to the joy of reading.
