On a very damp afternoon, the girls’ team travelled to St. John’s for their league game and every single one of them played amazingly well in our victory. It was the first game that St. John’s girls’ team had played and whilst their nervousness was apparent, their enthusiasm was infectious. It did not take long for Hartley to score our first goal and more followed at regular intervals. What was fantastic to see was the range of goals we scored from team goals that included 5,6 and 7 seven passes to individual strikes from distance to poacher finishes from corners. Our girls’ played with pride, passion and determination, and they also played with humility and an understanding that they had played a lot more as a team than the opposition and they showed them full respect.
Well done girls, we are all very proud of you.
